South Pacific Multi-Island and Flex Tier Flight Passes

1. Air Tahiti Multi-Island Passes:

Instead of booking point-to-point tickets (e.g., Papeete to Mo'orea, then Mo'orea to Bora Bora), Air Tahiti offers fixed-rate island-hopping flight passes.

  • The Travel Benefit: These passes allow you to bundle multiple islands into one itinerary (like the popular Bora Bora-Tuamotu Pass) for a lower overall cost than buying individual segments.

  • The Luggage Extension: When purchasing an official Multi-Island Pass, clients traveling on international tickets can easily pay a small, uniform supplement at the time of booking to officially increase their checked baggage allowance. This brings their domestic limit in line with standard international carrier allowances, ensuring their bags clear the domestic check-in counters without a hitch.

2. Flex Tier Fare Classes:

If a client’s itinerary doesn't fit the strict geographic loops required by a Multi-Island Pass, you will have to book standard point-to-point tickets. When doing this, you should avoid the base "Saver" fares and opt for the Flex (or Premium) Tier.

  • The Travel Benefit: Flex fares allow for penalty-free date and time changes, which is crucial when coordinating tight international flight arrivals or cruise embarkation windows.
  • The Luggage Benefit: These higher-tier fare classes automatically include a more generous checked baggage allowance. Instead of the baseline weight restrictions, a Flex ticket grants your luxury clients the extra weight capacity they need for their large cruise suitcases.

Using either of these methods gives our clients a seamless, stress-free transfer experience when moving from their international flight straight to the domestic terminal.

Inter-Island Baggage Allowance Policy

International Flights:

Transpacific carriers allow generous international baggage limits, but local inter-island flights strictly enforce a 5 kg (11 lbs) cabin limit and lower weight capacities on standard fares.

Domestic Flights:

Upgrading to a "Flex" tier domestic fare class or an official Multi-Island Pass is highly recommended to seamlessly match international luggage allowances.

Inter-Island Ferries and Ground Transfers

  • Ferry Location: Papeete Ferry Terminal (Gare Maritime) is downtown on the waterfront, a 10-to-15 minute taxi ride from Tahiti-Faa'a International Airport (PPT).
  • Papeete to Mo'orea Ferry: High-speed catamarans (Aremiti, Vaeara'i, Tauati) take 30 to 45 minutes. Walk-up passenger tickets are standard; advance bookings are only needed if transferring a vehicle.
  • Papeete to Bora Bora Ferry: The Apetahi Express takes roughly 6 hours and 50 minutes. Departs Papeete early morning on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays; returns on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (stops at Huahine, Raiatea, and Taha'a).
  • Bora Bora Arrival Transfers: Bora Bora Airport (BOB) sits on an isolated islet. Air Tahiti provides a free shuttle ferry to the main village of Vaitape, while luxury resorts provide direct private water taxi pickups from the airport docks.

Featured Offers

Logistical Constraint:

There is no direct ferry between Mo'orea and Bora Bora. To travel between them by sea, guests must ferry back to Tahiti and catch the Bora Bora ferry the next morning.
